Summary of  Indian civilization and Culture

‘Indian  Civilization and Culture’ is an essay written by Father of Nation or Bapu, Mahatma Gandhi.  In this essay, He proved that our own culture is better than western culture or any other culture of the world. He highlighted  features of Indian culture that it is unity in diversity in which priority is given to   duty   and morality. In our culture some motto are famous. i.e.- ‘live and   let live’   and ‘simple   living and high thinking’ . In essay he said happiness and  spiritualism  is actual pleasure not wealth and materialistic comforts.     He also warned   Indian  blind  imitation of western civilization and said   it is suicidal  to  blindly  following western or European culture.

Ans- Gandhiji says that mind is a restless bird, because the more it gets, the more it wants, and still remains unsatisfied. So we must have control upon our minds.

Ans- According to the author, modern civilization is the worship of the material. Materialism is the God of this civilization.

7) What is civilization in the real sense of the term ?
Ans- In the words of Gandhi Jee, Civilization is that mode of conduct which points out to man the path of duty. If we talk about the real sense then it is actually the curb of our desire. It is the way of living which we got from our ancestors.
