Dr. Zakir Hussain took oath as the President of India in 1967. He made a speech on the auspicious day of oath. Bharat is my home is extracted from his speech. He addresses India as a young state of ancient people and pledges himself to the service of her old values and ideals. He declares to work sincerely for the economic, social and moral development of this great nation.

                                                                                      He emphasized on people should work for himself and also for society .
